What this is. A Blackjack game. Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over, using hit, stand, double and split.

Free to download and free to play.

AK
An ace with a ten-value card is a blackjack: exactly 21 on the deal.

The rule set it implements

Standard Blackjack. Number cards at face value, face cards at ten, and the ace counting as eleven until that would take you past 21 — see Blackjack card values for the full table.

The dealer draws to 16 and stands on 17, with no discretion at any point. The Blackjack dealer rules explains why that constraint exists and why it is the source of your advantage.

The four actions

  • Hit — take another card, as often as you like.
  • Stand — stop and keep your total.
  • Double — commit double and take exactly one more card.
  • Split — separate a matching pair into two hands.

Having these four choices while the dealer has none is the whole structure of the game.

Soft hands

A hand holding an ace still counting as eleven cannot bust on the next card — the ace simply drops to one. Ace-six is a soft seventeen, and drawing to it is free.

This is the single most useful thing to internalise, and the one most new players miss. Soft and hard hands in Blackjack covers it with a comparison table.

What is in the app

A Blackjack table with all four player actions and a dealer that follows the standard fixed procedure.

  • Hit, stand, double and split
  • Ace counting as one or eleven automatically, so soft hands behave correctly
  • Dealer drawing to 16 and standing on 17, with no discretion
  • Blackjack paying more than an ordinary 21

Because the dealer's behaviour is fixed by rule, the decisions are the same ones you would face anywhere — see when to hit or stand in Blackjack.
